Process
The development of the prototype was guided by the UX strategy, specifically addressing key user needs and challenges. In a market with a lack of competition, the prototype focused on helping users save money, solve common car problems, and become more self-sufficient. This translated to features like easy-to-understand information, step-by-step repair instructions, and comprehensive troubleshooting guides. The prototype also addressed the challenges of finding trusted sources of information and feeling intimidated by mechanics by providing curated content and empowering users to diagnose and potentially solve problems themselves. Usability testing revealed valuable user feedback, leading to improvements in safety concerns, readability, and notification functionality. This iterative process ensured that the final prototype was user-centric and impactful, providing car owners with the information and tools they need to take control of their car maintenance.
